At the age of six, delightedly playing a very loud sheep in a production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, I decided to chase that feeling the rest of my life.
I generally play floozy gals with high voices, and on occasion, I get to play serious gals with high voices.
I'm represented in LA/NYC by Avalon Artists Group and The Actors Group in Seattle, and am seeking management.
I've worked on stage and screen all over the country, and have lived back and forth from NYC to LA as well as in my hometown of Seattle. I've also worked as a reader and audition coach to a wide range of film and stage stars you'd know from projects like Pitch Perfect, Scrubs, Little Fires Everywhere, Sons of Anarchy, Office Space, etc, and I have helped some of your favorite new actors land their first films, pilots, and Broadway shows.
I'm also a photographer and media editor (hey actors, I edit your reels) and am newly married to my wonderful husband, actor Erik Gratton.
Though unfortunately the role of Sandy was already taken, I am currently playing one of my faves, Lily St. Regis, in the national tour of Annie directed by Jenn Thompson. Do I background dance in Hard Knock Life? Is my costume the MOST fabulous? One of these is a yes and the other is a no, I guess you'll have to see to find out: www.annietour.com
"As for Curry, the Candlelight star may well be my favorite Lina ever, a delectably helium-voiced bubblehead with a voice so stratosphere-pitched, only dogs can hear its highest tones."
-Steven Stanley, Stage Scene LA
"Krista Curry all but steals the show as the naive bombshell Hedy LaRue."
-Inland Valley Daily Bulletin
"Krista Curry, as the silent film star Lina Lamont, very nearly steals every scene she’s in. She does an amazing job of making Lina sound just terrible. Think Minnie Mouse on helium, and you’ll know what to expect."
-Carolyn Lamberson, The Spokesman Review
"The strongest characters—the duo that makes the show—are Crystal Eisele’s fabulously spirited and knowing Mistress Page and Krista Curry’s squeaky-voiced sexpot of a Mistress Ford. With a décolletage forever at risk of a Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction, and an endearing penchant for selfie self-absorption, Curry is a scream...It’s worth going a second time just to savor how the brilliant Eisele and Curry seize every opportunity to delight."
-Jason Victor Serinus, The Leader
"Curry has a cutesy, cartoon-character delivery...her lovely "Raining in My Heart" in the second act was the musical highlight."
-Michael Moore, Kitsap Sun
"Krista Curry’s Doralee not only shows off the blonde-bombshell assets that made Curry’s Hedy LaRue such a scrumdiddlyumptious treat, this time round she stirs in some country gal smarts and a voice to do Dolly proud in “Backwoods Barbie” and “Cowgirl’s Revenge.”"
-Steven Stanley, Stage Scene LA
"The odious and detestable Rooster Hannigan (played by Nick Bernardi), Lily St. Regis (played by Krista Curry) and Miss Hannigan (played by Stefanie Londino) are so perfectly paired. Their chemistry pulses on the stage, especially in the vauderville-esque number ‘Easy Street’."
-Jamie Flowers, West End Best Friend
"Curry’s character voice for her role as Lily is grating in the best way, reminiscent of Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors or Lina Lamont in Singin’ In The Rain."
-Cori Graham, SoCal Thrills
"Everyone seemed perfect in their roles, especially Nick Bernardi as Rooster and Krista Curry as Lily."
-Brenda Hillegas, Philadelphia RowHome Magaine
"Last, but not least, of the principal performers is Krista Curry, who makes for the most love-to-dislike and amazingly annoying Lina Lamont imaginable. The high-pitched squeal Curry uses is paradoxically a joy to listen to for how uncannily nails-on-a-chalkboard-esque it is. Curry does a magnificent job of somehow varying her pitch even more so for comedic effect (e.g., “What’s Wrong With Me?”) and supplementing her character’s obliviousness with traits that yield much hilarity in a multitude of scenes...Of course, there is no better illustration of Lamont’s zany awkwardness than the infamous scene when she is unable to speak into any microphone...which is uproariously actualized by Curry’s on-point non-verbals."
